Rock 'n' Roy, although they met by chance at a Belgian jam session in 2018, their joint musical performances, heavily improvised, are anything but accidental. It's a well-thought-out, explosive stylistic blend that touches on many musical worlds – funk, rock, blues, soul – in short, fusion. The instrumentation is also interesting: the saxophone and the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) is based on the classical rhythm section, creating interesting and unusual sounds.
Myke Rock (USA) and Roy Andrews (Poland) formed this unique power trio in 2019, supported by one of Belgium's best drummers, Marcus Weymare, and could be seen and heard on Belgian stages back then. Unfortunately, Covid-19 forced Myke to return to the US, naturally suspending the group's activities. However, concerts are planned for late December and early January, during Myke's visit to Belgium. This time, the band plans to ask friends for support and call the concerts Rock'n'Roy: International Reunion. This time, their musical journey will be enhanced by the participation of Jez Harrop, a British singer with a warm voice, and the talented Belgian pianist Jonas Maes.
