COLUMBUS, Ohio – August 18, 2026 — Columbus-based musical artist, bassist Myke Rock will debut five brand-new original compositions in a special live showcase on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Traditions Tavern (4514 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220). The performance and the creation of the new material are funded in part by a grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC.ORG). Rock has procured his local dream band to perform 2, 1 hour headlining sets, and calls it The Modern Louvers ft. Myke Rock. Joining Rock in the Louvers is guitarists/vocalist Colin MacQueen (The Hip Replacements, TMI Band, Minty Fresh) and drummer Joel Steward (Minty Fresh, Columbus Pro Percussion).

The free-entry event marks a major creative milestone for Rock, who utilized the grant to compose a fresh suite of music specifically for this performance. The evening begins at 8:30 PM and features a dynamic lineup of supporting talent, including regional favorites Blues Therapy (http://www.bluestherapyband.com) with Lloyd Wallace on guitar and vocals, Joe Astolfi on bass and vocals and drummer Phil Jenkins, and the highly anticipated world debut of The Madden Mandala which features 19 year old blues guitarist vocalist, and whom many call a “future blues super star”, Madden Ungerer, along with bassist Myke Rock and drummer Mark Ward.

"Receiving support from the Greater Columbus Arts Council has been an incredible catalyst for my creative process," said Myke Rock. "A very challenging task, this grant allowed me the dedicated focus needed to write these five new songs, and I cannot wait to share their live debut with the Columbus community alongside some truly talented supporting artists."

Defining 'Modern Louvers' (Pronounced, "MOD-ern LOO-verz")Part 1 (1/3)

Modern Louvers have evolved into highly sophisticated architectural components that seamlessly blend sleek design with functional performance. They are used for both interiors (feature walls, room partitions, and acoustic ceiling panels) and exteriors (adjustable sunshades, privacy screens, and rain-defense facades).

The Modern Louvers' market is defined by several distinct styles, materials, and technological innovations:

1. Key Materials & Finishes

Aluminum Blues & Metal Waltz: The standard for exterior applications, often finished with durable, fade-resistant powder coatings. They can mimic the look of timber but offer superior durability for structures like pergolas and building facades.Patronizing Pop & Unsweetened Tea: The premier choice for interior accents. Modern wood louvers use grooved slats to add texture, depth, and verticality to spaces.

PVC Passion & Acrylic Tension: The most budget-friendly option for interiors. They are lightweight and available in hollow panels with various finishes ranging from wood grain to marble.
