This special celebratory concert is subtitled, Matinee de Bass 2 and features central Ohio bassists Dan Cochran (Colin Gawel & The Lonely Bones, The League Bowlers, Big Back 40, Busch League All Stars), Steve Perakis (Honk Wail & Moan, Yumbambe, Stan Smith Plus), Myke Rock (Bobby Messano Band, Dirty Red Sunshine, Screaming Urge) and drummer Andre Scott (Deuce 'n a Quarter, fo/mo/deep), with opening act bassist Matt Cistone (Days Gone By, Project Alcazar, Katie and the Red Hots). The Ohio Arts Council, Artist Opportunities, Professional Artist Grant supports Myke Rock in producing a series of four performances in central Ohio from January 30th through March 14th, 2026, featuring Columbus-based bass guitarists showcasing the full musical range of the instrument. The project reimagines popular and off-the-beaten-path songs by replacing traditional instrumental and vocal parts with bass interpretations, highlighting the instrument’s versatility.

Dan Cochran is a Columbus, Ohio-based bassist and entrepreneur best known as a member of several prominent local rock bands and as the founder of Four String Brewing Co..
Musical Career
Cochran has been a fixture in the Columbus music scene since the 1990s, performing in various touring and local acts:
- Big Back Forty: He joined this Polydor-signed alternative country/rock band as their bassist during the late '90s.
- The League Bowlers: A roots-rock side project fronted by Colin Gawel (of Watershed), where Cochran plays alongside local veterans like drummer Jim Johnson.
- Feversmile: An early '90s rock band featuring an "all-star" Columbus lineup including members who later joined the New Bomb Turks and Big Back Forty.

- Four String Brewing Co.: An avid homebrewer since 1994, Cochran founded this brewery in 2011 in Grandview Heights, Columbus. The company's name and branding directly reflected his musical background, though the brewery eventually closed its production facility and taproom in 2018.
Steve Perakis has taught double bass and electric bass privately and at local music stores for over 20 years. He has performed in dozens of cities in the United States, Europe and Thailand, with dozens of different musical groups at festivals, night clubs and private functions. He is a studio musician at area studios and for many professional colleagues. His performances have appeared on several soundtracks, area television commercials and on local recordings. For over 20 years he's managed business activities of various musical groups, produced audio recordings for release, composed and arranged music in multiple genres, for ensembles ranging from three to 11 pieces. He has also been commissioned to compose music for short films and modern dance works.Among others, Perakis has performed with Honk Wail & Moan, Big Gritty, Stan Smith Plus, Disorder, Furs, Porterhouse Surf, Schtick, QED Jazz, Thunder Mustard, Totally Bogus, Yumbambe, and Zancudo.

Myke Rock is an experienced and well-known bassist, particularly prominent in the Columbus, Ohio music scene, known for his work in numerous rock, blues, and punk bands. He is noted for his long list of musical accomplishments and is a frequent performer at events like ComFest, where he was an Honored Artist in 2023. Career Highlights and Associated Acts

He currently hosts a weekly open jam session at Traditions Tavern in Columbus and continues to perform in various bands, including as equity member in Dirty Red Sunshine, and tours periodically in Europe, and has upcoming performances on December 21, 2025 at Winter Blues Jam 2026 at De Mooie Molen in Roeselare, Belgium, and on January 2, 2026, with Rock 'n' Roy at Club B52 in Ichtegem, Belgium.

Andre Scott is a professional drummer and percussionist based in Columbus, Ohio, known for his work in the local jazz and blues scenes .
